Yom Ha’atzmaut festival in Teaneck

A group of more than 40 local synagogues, Jewish organizations, and businesses, including the Jewish Standard, sponsored the Achdut community Yom Ha’atzmaut Experience on May 13. The celebration, hosted by the Bergen County pro-Israel community, was in commemoration of Israel’s 76th Independence and Remembrance days. The program included a Yom Hazikaron kumzitz, Mincha/Maariv, video tributes honoring Israel’s heroes, performances by local musicians dancing, and an aerial light show. Rabbi Chaim Strauchler of Congregation Rinat Yisrael, Karen Orgen, and Chaim Kiss were among the many organizers.
