On Saturday evening, January 6, the community came out to support Yachad New Jersey at its annual gala. Yachad is a division of the Orthodox Union; the benefit, the group’s main annual drive, raised funds to support its critical support system and programs.

Honoree Rena Soclof with her Women’s Leadership Award

The program, which drew more than 400 people, paid tribute to Rena Soclof with the Women’s Leadership award, Rabbi Andrew and Racheli Israeli with the Young Leadership/Alumni award, and the Adler family with the Yachad Family award. High school seniors also were presented with leadership awards.

The gala officially launched the new George Weinberger Music Studio & Music Appreciation program. Ronit and Dan Rubinoff donated the studio and program in memory of Ronit’s uncle, George Weinberger, who had a developmental disability and lived during a time when organizations like Yachad did not exist.
