Yachad adult community center opens
The Mendel Balk Yachad Adult Community Center, under the auspices of Yachad, the National Jewish Council for Disabilities, began this year’s programming with a special guest, singer Mordechai Shapiro. The opening day celebration was hosted at the Balk home in Englewood.
The MBYACC will offer social and educational programs for young adults with special needs, 16 and older, so they can enjoy a home-away-from-home experience. They will participate in Yachad activities at the center, where they can spend quality time with peers, doing the things they like to do in an environment where they feel accepted, included, and loved. For information, call (201) 833-1349 or go to www.yachad.org/newjersey.
