Local students have been learning leadership from seniors living at a nursing home. In return, they teach the seniors the wonders of new technology.
We’ve written about the program, which includes helping the seniors explore their childhood homes, learn how to video chat and even some online shopping basics. Most remarkably, the students edited their own videos of residents’ histories and advice – and then joined them for the screening.
This video, shot at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh, was released today by the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey. “Discover what happens when Jewish day school students and senior citizens get together weekly,” the Federation wrote about the video on Facebook. “Each generation is inspired by the life experience and knowledge of the other. Bonds are formed, history learned, and culture shared.”
Thank you to the Jewish Federation for encouraging such programs and sharing them with the community.
