WATCH: Rockland yeshivas in the crosshairs on fire safety allegations
"A disaster waiting to happen" say officials on news report.
Privates schools and yeshivas across heavily Jewish Rockland County may be at risk due to expired safety measures according to a News 12 report.
The news station made visits to private schools in Ramapo and Spring Valley checking fire safety compliance. The station reported that, “out of the 45 schools visited, a staggering 90 percent had records that were either expired, missing or school officials refused to show them.”
Officials warn in the report that the situation is “a disaster waiting to happen.”
The report takes viewers to a yeshiva operating out of a single-family home in Monsey where the neighbor reports “more than 200 boys” using a four-bedroom house and asking, “where do they go to the bathroom?”
Is this a widespread problem or is the Hassidic community being targeted unfairly? Weigh in below.
