WATCH: Rebuilding ransacked Tomb of Joseph
Volunteers rebuilt the Tomb of Joseph in Palestinian-controlled Nablus overnight after a mob tried to destroy the ancient holy site.
The Tomb of Joseph sits in the heart of Nablus (Shechem in the Bible), which is controlled by the Palestinian Authority and was to be accessed freely by Israelis according to the Oslo Accords.
During the Second Intifada in the early 00’s it was heavily damaged – and later rebuilt. Now, during the current wave of violence, it was again damaged.
Overnight, a squad of volunteers, coordinated with the IDF, refurbished the ancient tomb. This stop-motion video, courtesy of Israel’s Channel 7, is a treat.
