WATCH: Israel’s mighty co-ed combat unit
The Caracal unit has proven that a co-ed combat unit is positive for all involved.
Israel’s Caracal Unit in the IDF is unique in that it is a co-ed combat unit. But it has gained the respect of the rest of the military due to its counter-insurgency prowess on the Sinai border.
This report gives a picture of the unit and interviews a female olah – immigrant to Israel – from Baltimore that dreamed of joining the unit.
She speaks about the difficulty of giving orders in a language she is still learning, talks about getting a manicure when her service ends and speaks about the ideological reasons she moved to Israel.
What do you think about these units?
