The Bergen County section of the National Council of Jewish Women hopes to make the weekends happier for local children by providing them with child-friendly, healthy goody bags. At its next general meeting, members and volunteers will pack 1,000 snack packs to be donated to the Center for Food Action for distribution to children in local elementary schools.
The meeting, at Temple Emeth in Teaneck, is on Tuesday, January 28, at 12:30 p.m. Each snack pack, with fruit, cereal, and other wholesome foods, costs $6. To help defray costs, donations in multiples of 6 are appreciated, i.e., $6, 18 (chai), $24, $36, etc.
