Volunteer appreciation lunch at YJCC
Sharry Friedberg |
The Bergen County YJCC in Washington Township holds its second annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, February 4, at the YJCC. More than 200 volunteers in a variety of departments and capacities at the organization are invited. The YJCC, a not-for-profit organization, uses volunteers to help support departments including early childhood, special needs, swim team, adult and senior adults, as well as for special events and organizational governance.
Along with recognizing volunteers, the event will honor Sharry Friedberg with the Keter Torah (Crown of Torah) award for outstanding dedication. A decades-long YJCC volunteer, Ms. Friedberg has served on the YJCC board and held a range of vice presidencies-membership, programming, outreach, and at-large. She has organized, chaired, or co-chaired countless events, including the gently used book sale, women’s seder, book club, “Bellinis, Babka and Bling,” comedy night, “Brilliant Brunches,” and the 2014 spring gala. The luncheon is made possible through the support of Eve and Jeffrey Tucker; Geri Cantor is the event chair. The YJCC is at 605 Pascack Road. For information, call (201) 666-6610.
