Registration is open for this year’s Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern New Jersey’s Wheels For Meals Ride, which is set to go — virtually, of course — on June 14, to accommodate social distancing.
Participants can bike or walk and keep track of their distances, or join a Zoom ride at home, with two-time USA Cycling national champion Mara Miller at 9 a.m. that Sunday. Participants are encouraged to wear their tee shirts, track their rides or walks, and share their pictures with JFCS-NNJ on social media. A live start will stream for people to join. The ride supports JFCS food pantries and Wheels for Meals programs. Both are essential services that fight hunger, both in calm periods and in times of crisis. Since mid-March, JFCS has seen a 50 percent increase in Kosher Meals-on-Wheels deliveries.
Start your own team or join an existing one, like the Jewish Standard’s. For more information, go to ridetofighthunger.com or call (201) 837-9090, ext. 212.
