The sisterhood of the Fair Lawn Jewish Center/Congregation B’nai Israel held a virtual “Play for the Cause” program to benefit the Fair Lawn Food Pantry. For more than 15 years, the sisterhood has held the annual event to benefit a community-based charity. This year, dozens of participants enjoyed an evening of trivia and Boggle with a mojito-making demonstration in between.

The food pantry, which is funded entirely by private donations, is used on a regular basis by many Fair Lawn families who receive food and personal products. Donations are accepted year round.

“I’m so proud to be the president of the FLJC/CBI Sisterhood,” Jennifer Mendelsohn said. “During this great time of need, we were able to raise the necessary funds to support our local community’s food bank, and have fun while doing so. We hope to continue to promote the values of tikkun olam, gemilut chasidim, and tzedakah, in the year to come.”
