Although the weather forced the violin concert, which had been planned for outdoors, inside, community members from JCC of Northern NJ and Beth Haverim Shir Shalom gathered for a violin concert by David Podles. Not only did Dr. Podles play a variety of selections by Jewish composers and Broadway tunes, including excerpts from “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Cats,” and “Annie,” he also told stories, played medleys, and gave the audience a trip down memory lane. This collaborative program between the JCC NNJ and BHSS spotlighted Jewish cultural arts for Creative Bergen’s Arts Amble, a county-wide weekend-long inaugural event. Audience members left with take-home snack bags. News of upcoming events will be posted at jccnnj.org.
