Alan Musicant the manager of Gutterman Musicant and Wien and Wien Memorial Chapels of Hackensack, and Martin D. Kasdan, the manager of Riverside Memorial Chapels of New Jersey, coordinated the 13th annual New Jersey Jewish War Veterans memorial service on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11. The service honored 81 veterans and was held at Gutterman and Musicant in Hackensack. A special plaque was added to the chapel to honor 14 distinguished rabbis who were killed in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

Speakers included Rabbi and Lt. Col. Simon Feld, the chaplain at the Jewish Home at Rockleigh, Commander Jeff Sohn of the New Jersey Jewish War Veterans, and Carol Sohn, president of the New Jersey Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary.

Since the annual JWV memorial services began in 2006, 1,316 brass plates honoring veterans have been mounted on 12 plaques on the chapel walls. For more information, call (201) 489-3800.
