Rabbi Dov Drizin of Valley Chabad found a way to keep Sukkot exciting this year by bringing a traveling sukkah to people’s home. This year, with covid, the holiday’s events and traditional rituals were challenged.
“This year we realized that we have to get a little creative and bring that holiday to the people” Rabbi Drizin said. “A mobile sukkah on wheels seemed like the perfect answer. It was a great opportunity to connect with God and with the community.”
The “Sukkah Mobile” — a sukkah in a pick-up truck — with Rabbi Drizin, and Rabbi Yosef Orenstein of Valley Chabad’s Teen Leadership Initiative, visited many local homes throughout the week of October 5. The sukkah also went to local senior homes.
