Ridgewood’s Temple Israel & JCC and Temple Avodat Shalom in River Edge join to mark Kristallnacht at Avodat Shalom on Sunday, November 12, at 2 p.m.
The program includes a musical performance of “Anne Frank: A Living Voice,” a seven-part piece by local composer Linda Tutas Haugen, with the Bella Voce Singers Women’s Choir, and directed by Jessica Corbin. A string quartet with Gabriel Schaff and Wendy Kosakoff, violins; Tamara Freeman, viola; and Sara Brown, cello, will accompany the choir. Dr. Joan Rivitz, associate director of the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education, will attend. Rabbi Dr. David Fine of Temple Israel and Rabbi Paul Jacobson and Cantor Maria Dubinsky of Avodat Shalom will lead the memorial prayers, and River Edge’s Mayor Edward Mignone will speak.
