More than 75 “menorah-mobile” (vehicles with menorahs mounted on top) will ride around Rockland County in a Chanukah parade traveling down Routes 59 and 87 East with a destination of the Palisades Center Mall. It is sponsored by Mesivta Lubavitch of Monsey. The celebration begins on Sunday, December 22, the first night of Chanukah, at 6:15 p.m., at K’hal Tzemach Tzedek, 2 Langeries Drive, Monsey, N.Y. It will end in the west court of the Palisades Center Mall (near Best Buy, Parking Lot A), with an indoor menorah lighting and celebration with dancing, live music, donuts, and entertainment for the children at 7.
“The goal of the parade and menorah lighting is to share the joyous spirit of Chanukah, to instill Jewish pride and unity, and to bring more light into the world,” said Rabbi Shmuel Dubinsky, a rabbinical student who helped organize the project.
