Danielle Polak of East Brunswick was among the participants in Chetz V’Keshet by Tzofim North America, a program in Israel for Jewish 14- to 18-year-olds from North America and Canada. It offers participants a transformative 25-day experience filled with exploration, learning, and cultural immersion.

According to Danielle’s mother, Orit Polak, “As Israeli parents living abroad, it is important for us to send our children to Israel and to Tzofim North America, so that they feel a connection to Israel and the community here. We want them to feel a part of something larger, especially when living far from home.”

Throughout the journey, the group of 21, accompanied by about 20 Israeli scouts, have been embarking on a comprehensive tour spanning the south, center, and north of Israel. Highlights include climbing Masada, visiting Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, engaging with the Druze community in Isfiya, paying respects at Yad Vashem Museum, and more. The program also incorporates a week of national service, during which the teens volunteer at various locations across the south of Israel, contributing to their personal growth and understanding of Israeli society.
