More than 600 Moriah parents, faculty, friends, and community members gathered to celebrate the Englewood school’s 60th anniversary.

Thanks to the community’s overwhelming generosity, the dinner raised $1.5 million for the Moriah School’s annual campaign. This year, Moriah honored the Moriah building committee — Joseph Feldman ’96, Jason Kahane, David Kramer, and Brian Rosen ’93. Their leadership and vision have created a legacy that will continue to affect generations of students at Moriah.

Moriah also celebrated Morah Pam Schlisser, who received this year’s Rabbi J. Shelley Applbaum z”l Service Award. The evening’s highlights included performances from the Moriah choir and the special recognition of Morah Leah Levi, who has taught more than 1,000 Moriah students during her 40-year tenure. The eighth-graders also took to the stage, holding the same chain that Morah Leah’s first-grade classes have held during their siddur plays for generations.
