Michael Rapaport performs with guests Sarge the Comedian and Olga Namer at “Stand-Up for the Arts 2024” at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly on Saturday, February 10, from 7 to 10 p.m. The show is for adults, 18 and above; it might include material inappropriate for minors.
“Laughter isn’t just entertainment; it’s a healing force, especially within our Jewish community,” according to a press release from the foundation. “The arts are a vibrant thread that brings us together here at the J. They are essential to a wide range of programs with immeasurable impact, from enriching the lives of all ages to being a powerful tool for mental health and well-being. We’re coming together as a community to celebrate the arts, uplift spirits, and show our unwavering support.
“100 percent of the net proceeds will support arts-related, mission-driven activities at the Kaplen JCC, including art therapy for Israeli children displaced by the Israel-Hamas war; JCC Community Theater performances educating the broader community about antisemitism; and senior programs which use art therapy to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia,” it continues.
