Every Israeli restaurant that serves hummus may soon owe Lebanon money for copyright infringement ““ at least if Fadi Abboud gets his way.
USA Today reported that the president of the Lebanese Industrialists Association wants Israelis to stop calling hummus an Israeli dish. He wants hummus, tabouleh, and baba ghannouj to be recognized as specific Lebanese dishes.

“It is not enough they (Israelis) are stealing our land. They are also stealing our civilization and our cuisine,” said Abboud.

The Big Lipowsky is pretty speechless on this one. I’ll ponder it later over a big bowl of Sabra hummus.
