Temple B’nai Abraham of Livingston’s Jewish Learning Program students helped spread the light of Chanukah by sending messages to soldiers in Kuwait, Afghanistan, Nova Scotia, Fort Benning, Georgia, and Fort Hood, Texas.

In an email to Melissa Weiner, TBA’s director of Jewish Learning, Judge Keith Freedman, the founder of the Jewish Soldiers Project, wrote, “On behalf of the Jewish service members served by the Jewish Soldiers Project, I want to thank you, your staff, and most of all your students for the beautiful Chanukah cards made this year. More than 50 schools in 30 states made over 2,500 cards. In 2020, the JSP sent 100 Chanukah packages and 125 packets of cards to Jews serving in 20 nations, 25 bases across the United States, and several ships at sea.”

The Jewish Soldiers project was founded in 2007 to serve the needs of Jews in the military serving our nation across the nation and around the world.
