The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County presents “Kreplach & Dim Sum — Yes, There are Jews in China!” a Zoom talk by Robyn Helzner, on Sunday, May 2, at 4:30 p.m.

Through lively stories, photos, videos, and music, Ms. Helzner will share her enthusiasm for the ancient and modern Jewish communities of Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Kaifeng. She was the cantor for the United Jewish Congregation of Hong Kong and officiated at the first bar mitzvah ever held in Beijing.

A vocalist and storyteller, Ms. Helzner also leads Jewish heritage tours to China, the Balkans, Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.

Funding for the May 2 program was in part by a general operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State, through grant funds administered by the Monmouth County Historical Commission.

The Jewish Heritage Museum is in the Mounts Corner Shopping Center in Freehold, on the second floor of the historic Levi Solomon Barn. Although not open to the public now, the museum is handicapped and assistive-listening accessible.

Admission to the Zoom program is free, but donations are welcome. To make a reservation and receive the link, call the museum at (732) 252-6990 or go to jhmomc.org.
