Staten Island update
Thank you for your Sept. 25 article about our children’s experience in The Jewish Foundation School on Staten Island. Since your article, we have experienced so much more about the school and have been even more impressed. Our children are receiving an excellent limudei kodesh and secular education in a very caring environment. Their Ivrit (Hebrew language) has also improved since the beginning of the year. Each of our children is learning a tremendous amount and is happy in school.
While they continue to be close with their Teaneck and Bergenfield friends, they have also made new friends, have been invited for birthdays, sleepovers, and playdates with their classmates in Staten Island. The parents have welcomed us as well. The entire commute is reliably 40 to 45 minutes. The children do not complain at all about the commute. In fact, it gives them time to do some of their schoolwork or just relax. When they come home they are ready to finish their work and have dinner.
Last year, we sought out other options to make yeshiva tuition more affordable without compromising on limudei kodesh, midot, Ivrit, and secular academic excellence. We are so fortunate to have found this in The Jewish Foundation School. To learn more, go to http://www.jewishfoundationschool.org or attend an informational parlor meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 6 at 74 Glenwood Drive North, Bergenfield.
