Baseball legends Tino Martinez and Ron Darling will be at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly on November 29 at 6 p.m. for its second annual Sports Night of Champions. The evening, which supports JCC scholarships, includes an elegant strolling dinner, program with award presentations and a moderated discussion featuring World Series champion Mets pitcher turned game analyst Ron Darling, and former Yankees first baseman and 4-time World Series champion Tino Martinez. Tracy Wolfson, a four-time Emmy-nominated sportscaster, will lead the discussion. Marty Levitt, a former JCC president and the founder of the Marty Levitt Basketball League, will receive the Joseph Taub Lifetime Achievement award. Eric Kleiner, a longtime JCC board member and co-president of the Tenafly Youth Basketball League, will be honored with the Emerging Leader award. “Our first annual event surpassed all our expectations, raising more than $200,000 for JCC scholarships, and we hope to exceed this at our second event,” the JCC’s CEO, Jordan Shenker, said. The JCC will present its second Joseph Taub Scholar Athlete awards to one female and one male high school senior who are Bergen County residents. jccotp.org/sportsnight or (201) 408-1405.
