Says Perry’s motives are evangelical

While Rick Perry’s fervent support of Israel is understandably appealing to many Jewish voters, let’s remember that this support is grounded not in a fondness for the Jewish people, but rather in biblical prophecy that ties Israel to the second coming of Jesus. Like all evangelical Christians, he believes that only those who accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior can enter the kingdom of heaven – which means, of course, he thinks Jews are all headed straight to you-know-where.
