The Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly is sponsoring the second annual community “Satellite Ride for The Living.” It’s set for Father’s Day, Sunday, June 20, at 8:30 a.m., outside at the JCC. The inspirational 60-minute stationary bike ride will feature three JCC group exercise instructors.

The annual Ride for the Living is an annual bike ride through the Polish countryside, from the death camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau to the JCC in Krakow, Poland. Thousands gather to commemorate the people who were murdered during the Holocaust, to learn about Jewish history, and to celebrate the rebirth of Jewish life in Poland.

The JCC’s goal is to gather for a memorable and educational experience to unite Jewish communities in New Jersey and in Krakow. Proceeds support both the JCC in Krakow and Holocaust education and awareness at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades.

The ride is sponsored by the Rubach family and is named for Leon Rubach z”l, who survived the Holocaust as a hidden child in Poland.

The ride begins with check-in and welcome at 8:30 a.m. The ride starts at 9, and there will be a reception at 10.
