Rutgers University’s New Brunswick campus tops the Hillel International list of 60 most popular public schools for Jewish students, with about 6,400 Jewish students.  The University of Central Florida is in second place, with 6,000 Jewish students.

Felicia McGinty, Rutgers’ vice chancellor for student affairs, said that the news made her day. She added that the university does everything it can to makeall students feel accepted and cherished.

A whopping 19 percent of Rutgers undergraduates are Jewish; students can either major or minor in Jewish studies.  The school offers kosher dining options, and both Hillel and Chabad are active on campus.
