The Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County is making this month all about Israel, offering programs that highlight the connections with the country’s people.
The first program is for Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day. It’s the day when all of Israel comes to a halt and remembers its fallen soldiers and the victims of terrorism. On April 13, at 7:30 p.m., Join us for Yom HaZikaron, and as the sirens begin to sound in Israel, you will have the opportunity to stand with all of Israel for moments of silence.
As Yom HaZikaron ends, the celebration of Israel’s Independence Day, Yom Ha’atzmaut will begin.
On April 14 at 7:30 p.m., tune in to hear some of the Jewish world’s rock superstars, top musical artists in Israel and America, including David Broza, Nefesh Mountain, Josh Nelson, Shimon Smith, and Rabbi Lisa Silverstein.
On April 18 at 11 a.m., the federation invites you to an off-the-record virtual brunch with the Consul General of Israel in New York. The session will include the latest news out of Israel, including the successful roll-out of vaccine distribution for every part of Israel’s population, the Abraham Accords, and the new relationships with Arab nations that had not recognized Israel, and the election that just took place.
