The Orangetown Jewish Center marked the sixth night of Chanukah by lighting a menorah made of tikki torches, having students in its Kulanu Hebrew school lead some of the prayers and songs, and arranging a fire show. Rabbis Paula Mack Drill, Ami Hersh, and Miriam Midlarsky Lichtenfeld, the school’s educational director, led the services. Amichai Margolis, the shul’s music director, pictured center, accompanied them.
The parking lot had areas marked off for families to distance themselves. The warmth of being together made up for the chilly night.
