Rights rejected - The Jewish Standard

Rabbis for Human Rights-North America claims to be watching out for the human rights of all human beings, yet it would deny a segment of the population – whether they be Muslim, Christian, or Jewish – the right to settle wherever legally permissible. No matter how the organization’s head, Rabbi Jill Jacobs, tries to spin it, a recent article by her smacks of a desire to create a “judenrein” zone in Jerusalem – the holiest city in the Jewish state. In her effort to defend the rights of Palestinians, Jacobs ignores the legal rights of the Jewish people. Likewise, all human beings have the right to self defense. The fact that Jewish homes are akin to fortresses, or that their residents are well armed is simply to protect their families from attacks – an unfortunate reality in that neighborhood.
