RIETS Shavuot program
Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary will offer its seventh annual Shavous Yarchei Kallah, an opportunity to spend the holiday immersed in high-level Torah learning and thought, at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, N.Y., from May 30 to June 1.
“The RIETS Shavuos program is the most exciting and inspiring learning opportunity I have ever experienced,” RIETS’s dean, Rabbi Menachem Penner, said. “With more than 40 shiurim, the huge faculty and variety of topics discussed combine to create a feast for the mind and soul. The beautiful ruach and sense of community complete the yom tov.”
In addition to Dean Penner, the yarchei kallah will feature sessions by world-renowned Torah authorities and personalities including Rabbi Hershel Schachter, the Nathan and Vivian Fink Distinguished Professorial Chair in Talmud; Rabbi Dr. Jacob J. Schachter, professor of Jewish history and Jewish thought and senior scholar at YU’s Center for the Jewish Future; C.B. Neugroschl, head of school at the Samuel H. Wang Yeshiva University High School for Girls; and Dr. Rona Novick, dean of the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration. YU President Richard M. Joel; Rabbi Dr. Kenneth Brander, vice president of university and community life, and Rabbi Dr. Joshua Joseph, senior vice president, among many other speakers, also will lead shiurim.
To accommodate families with children of all ages, the program features babysitting and day camp options and a program for teens. In addition, a special program in conjunction with YUConnects, the University’s matchmaking service, will be offered. For information or to register, go to regonline.com/shavuos.
