Rabbinic intern comes to Glen Rock
Sam Hollander, the Glen Rock Jewish Center’s rabbinic intern, will be at the shul one Shabbat a month. His responsibilities include invigorating the shul’s newly formed “Mishpacha Minyan” for Hebrew school students and their families, enhancing family Shabbat programming for young families, and assisting in the main Shabbat service. He will also help with upcoming teen programs.
Mr. Hollander, a fifth-year rabbinical student at the Jewish Theological Seminary, also is working toward a master’s degree in Jewish education. He was the rabbinic intern for Congregation Beth El in South Orange and Temple Sholom in Greenwich, Conn., and he is the youth and family program director at Ansche Chesed in Manhattan. He completed an internship as a hospital chaplain at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and worked for Camp Ramah in the Poconos and for Ramah Israel Seminar for six years.
