Rabbi Sirbu wins community relations award:

Rabbi Steven Sirbu of Teaneck’s Temple Emeth, at far right, received the Matthew Feldman Community Relations award from the Township of Teaneck on June 13. Temple member Wendy Wineburgh Dessanti, at left, who is the co-chair of the advisory board on community relations, presented him with the award. She, along with her co-chair David Langford and Township Councilman Alan Sohn, standing next to her, spoke about the significance of the award at Temple Emeth’s service on June 23. State Senator Loretta Weinberg, standing beside the rabbi, presented a joint resolution to Rabbi Sirbu marking the occasion, and Rabbi Sirbu offered reflections on the honor.
