Rabbi Penner to be scholar-in-residence in Teaneck
Congregation Beth Aaron will host Rabbi Menachem Penner as its scholar-in-residence this weekend. Tonight, at 8:30 p.m., he will discuss “Inclusivity in the Orthodox Community: Defining Goals and Setting Limits.” Rabbi Rothwachs will join him in the discussion. A Q-&-A session will follow.
On Saturday, Rabbi Penner will offer a drasha, “Finding Meaning in Musaf,” during the 8:45 a.m. minyan. At 4 p.m., his topic will be “Why We Pray.” Between Mincha and Maariv, Rabbi Menachem and Adeena Penner will discuss “Parenting in Uncharted Waters.”
Rabbi Menachem Penner is the dean of Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. In March, he will become the executive vice president of the Rabbinical Council of America and dean emeritus; he will remain a faculty member at RIETS. He’s preparing to publish “Three Steps Forward” through RIETS/Koren Press this year. He is chairman of the board of Kesher Families, where his wife, Adeena, is president.
