Programs for beating stress — in Rockland and MetroWest

Rockland Jewish Family Service offers “Lighten Up — Understanding and Easing the Winter Blues,” using mindfulness and other simple techniques, on Zoom, on Monday, January 25, at 10 a.m. Carol King, a RJFS social worker, will talk about “Winter Blues” (seasonal affective disorder) and remedies including exercise and nutrition. Carole Brill, a musician, meditation teacher, and leader of Qi gong, will lead a mindfulness workshop.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest’s Women of Wisdom education series opens with “An Evening to Exhale: Coping and Managing Stress in Uncertain Times” on Zoom, on Thursday, January 28, at 7:30 p.m. Marianne McCrone, the program coordinator of child and adolescent services at the Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, and Danna Marcus, from Mindsoothers, will speak. The discussion will offer strategies to help viewers navigate through the pandemic, including ways to help ourselves, our parents, and our young adult and teen children.
