Peace Now not so pro-Israel
Aseel Saied proudly notes that her parents were involved in PLO “activism” prior to 1994 (“Palestinian gets close to ‘other’ in pro-Israel internship,” September 6). I remind her that the PLO was considered a terrorist organization until the Madrid Conference in 1991, and only recognized Israel’s right to exist and rejected “terrorism and violence” in 1993. Nonetheless, the al-Aqusa Martyr Brigades, the PLO’s terrorist faction, has continued to murder Israeli civilians over the past decade. The fact that Peace Now would employ a person who is proud of such a background attests to the fact that it is far from being pro-Israel.
