Paramus Relay for Life is this weekend

The Relay For Life of Paramus, celebrating its ninth year fundraising for the American Cancer Society, will host events on June 12 and June 13.

A drive-up luminaria ceremony is planned for Saturday, at 10 p.m., in the Paramus High School parking lot. A drive-through celebration will be held on Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m., in the parking lot near the AMC movie theater at the Westfield Garden State Plaza.

The luminaria ceremony is set up like a drive-in movie. Participants will stay in their vehicles to hear pre-recorded speeches and songs and watch a slideshow on a large screen. Audio is through the car radio tuned to a custom station.

At the drive-through celebration, tables will be set up with handouts from local sponsors and the committee. Participants are encouraged to decorate their vehicles. There will also be a non-perishable food drive to support the Paramus Community Pantry.

Pre-registration is required to comply with the American Cancer Society covid-19 guidelines. Learn more at
