Paramus cantor retires after 26 years

On Friday, June 23, the Jewish Community Center of Paramus/Congregation Beth Tikvah honored and celebrated Cantor Sam Weiss as he retired after 26 years of service to the synagogue. More than 150 people attended services and a festive dinner in Cantor Weiss’s honor, as he received gifts and tributes.
“The JCCP/CBT was blessed to have had one of the finest cantors in the country as its chazzan,” Rabbi Arthur Weiner, the shul’s spiritual leader, said. “His magnificent voice, tremendous scholarship, mastery of the Jewish musical tradition, and concern for the mission of the congregation has made a real difference in the life of our community.”
