Children’s book author Chana Stiefel, a graduate of the Stern College for Women and the editor of “Our Children,” a monthly parenting supplement to the Jewish Standard, discusses her latest book, “Let Liberty Rise,” published by Scholastic, to conclude a Yeshiva University Libraries book talk series. The talk, on Zoom, is set for Tuesday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. Ms. Stiefel also will talk about the trajectory of her career in “From Stern to Scholastic: A Journey in Children’s Publishing.” She has written more than 25 books for children, including “My Name is Wakawakaloch!,” with illustrations by Mary Sullivan, and “Daddy Depot,” illustrated by Andy Snair. Recent non-fiction titles include “Animal Zombies…& Other Real-Life Monsters,” published by National Geographic Kids, which was selected as a 2019 Top Ten YALSA Quick Pick for Reluctant YA Readers. “Let Liberty Rise,” a picture book, tells the true story of how children helped build the Statue of Liberty.
