Miriam and Ezra Lightman hosted a Norpac pro-Israel meeting in Teaneck for Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-Dist. 17), who is serving her 15th term in Congress, representing parts of Rockland and Westchester counties. Ms. Lowey was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1988 and was the first woman and the first New Yorker to chair the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. She also is the first woman to lead the powerful House Appropriations Committee. Ms. Lowey is running for re-election in November.
