Non-Christians need not apply in Germany
Berlin has one of, if not the, fastest growing Jewish communities in Europe. Jews may soon not feel as welcome, though, given German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s latest pronouncement that Germany is basically for Christians.
Speaking about the growing population of Muslim immigrants over the weekend, Merkel told members of her Christian Democratic Union party that multiculturalism has failed in Germany and those who do not share Christian values need to get with the program or get out.
“We feel tied to Christian values. Those who don’t accept them don’t have a place here,” said the chancellor.
