New Waltuch Gallery art exhibit showcases joy of nature

An opening reception for the exhibition “Nature’s Joy,” the debut showcase of Israeli-born artist Sara Barzillai, will be held Sunday, December 10, at 1 p.m. at the Waltuch Art Gallery at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly.

Barzillai’s artwork is born of the passion for painting she rediscovered during the pandemic. The artist, who grew up on Kibbutz Kfar-Menachem, in Israel, says that each piece in “Nature’s Joy” reflects her deep sense of joy and wonder at the world outside her window.

All Waltuch Gallery proceeds this month benefit the JCC’s Community Response Campaign, serving the growing needs of the local Israeli community in these trying times and deepening the impact of Kaplen JCC programs that make it the center point for Jewish and Israeli life in Bergen County.

The exhibit will be on view through December; Barzillai will attend the reception.
