Nefesh B’Nefesh offers a day of virtual tours and webinars
On Sunday, July 12, Nefesh B’Nefesh offers three looks at life in Jerusalem today. First, at 10 a.m., there is an overview, with “LIVE: Touring Israel — The Old City of Jerusalem,” a virtual tour with a guide from Jewish Quarter Tourism. Learn about the history of Jerusalem’s Old City, from the days of the First Temple to modern-day Israel — from your own living room. The tour includes 360° photos along with interactive games and unique photographs. Sites include the archaeological site of the City of David, the Herodian Quarter, the Broad Wall, and the Hurva Synagogue. The tour is great for families of all ages. It won’t be recorded; the only chance to see it is at 10 on Sunday.

Jerusalem also has a thriving singles community. In a webinar, “Communities in Israel: Jerusalem for Singles and Young Professionals,” representatives from the city’s immigration department will talk about the opportunities. Participants might be familiar with Jerusalem from their time in yeshiva, gap year programs, vacations, and visits with friends or family, but living there is different. Topics will include neighborhoods, employment opportunities, the hi-tech scene, social service programs, and Ulpan. It’s at 11.

The final program, set for 1 p.m., is another webinar, “Communities in Israel: Jerusalem for Families.” Here, immigration department representatives will discuss the many advantages of choosing Jerusalem as your family’s home in Israel. Topics will include neighborhoods, education, special services for the children of new immigrants, employment opportunities, and Ulpan.
