The Bergen County section of the National Council of Jewish Women recently partnered with the Bergen Family Center to help mitigate the financial hardship caused by Tropical Storm Ida by giving free winter clothing to displaced families.

The Council Thrift Shop in Bergenfield, which is run by NCJW volunteers, welcomed individuals and families whom the Bergen Family Center sent over. Many of them had lost their homes and belongings when the storm ravaged the Englewood area where they lived. The Council Thrift Shop gave each shopper $50 to use to select clothing from its stock.

The collaboration between NCJW’s Council Thrift Shop and Bergen Family Center on Ida relief is an example of how the NCJW works to better the lives of others in our community. For more information, go to ncjwbcs.org or call (201) 385-4847.
