The Bergen County section of the National Council of Jewish Women joined other Bergen County residents at the MLK monument plaza on Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Teaneck/Hackensack Campus to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.’s 1963 March on Washington. The program was organized by the Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Committee of Bergen County.
Community leaders gathered to talk about progress made in civil rights during the past 60 years and the work that still must be done. NCJW participants included Carol Bratman, Lois Katz Brown, Sue Kanrich, Jackie Kates, Ann Levenstein, Marcia Levy, Angelique Pinedo, Elaine Pollack, Roxanne Reff, Bernice Schwab, Bari-Lynn Schwartz, Ina Miller-Silverstein, and Paula Star.
