NCJW installs officers and honors members

The Bergen County section of the National Council of Jewish Women held its awards and installation champagne luncheon on June 17; 93 people gathered at Season’s in Washington Township for the celebration. Helen Archontou was presented with the Hannah G. Solomon award, and Marilynn Friedman received the organization’s Woman of the Section award. Officers were installed by outgoing honorary vice president Elizabeth Halverstam, and Rabbi Jennifer Schlosberg of the Glen Rock Jewish Center gave the invocation. There was also a silent auction and a raffle.
Now, outgoing co-president Elaine Meyerson is the honorary vice president, and Paula Star and Bari-Lynne Schwartz are the section’s co-presidents. The group installed 17 officers; Hildy Dillon and Patty Siegel join Marsha Sobel, Lois Katz Brown, Flora Perskie, Joan Cooper, Hilary Eth, Beth Pascarello, Joyce Bivone, Marilynn Friedman, Fran Einiger and Pauline Hecht as vice presidents; Susan Hagoel is treasurer, and Norma Goldsmith is recording secretary.
NCJW celebrated its centennial in 2023. The organization provides educational and stimulating programs throughout the year, including six general meetings, speakers, advocacy activities, book groups, and trips. For information, go to www.ncjwbcs.org.
