NCJW celebrating 93rd installation
The Bergen County section of the National Council of Jewish Women will hold its 93rd installation of officers and trustees on June 7, at 11 a.m., at the Estate at Florentine Gardens in River Vale.
Awards will be presented after lunch. This year’s Hannah G. Solomon award will go to Richard Mingoia, the president and CEO of Youth Consultation Service, and Evalyn Brownstein will be honored with the Woman of the Section award. Attendees will receive a journal and there will be a raffle for prizes.
Under the guidance of Mr. Mingoia since 1996, YCS has become a leader in caring for children in need throughout New Jersey. Each day YCS provides services to thousands of New Jersey families who have children with special needs, from birth through adulthood.
Evalyn Brownstein, a retired special education teacher for the Teaneck school system, co-chairs NCJW BCS’s HIPPY program (Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-School Youngsters) and chairs NCJW’s Scholarship Committee, which awards several $1,000 endowed scholarships to young women graduating from Bergen County public high schools.
