The Bergen County section of the National Council of Jewish Women hosts its centennial installation and awards champagne luncheon on Thursday, June 15, at 11:30 a.m., at Seasons in Washington Township. Sheila Katz, the NCJW’s CEO, will swear in the section’s new officers.

To celebrate the section’s upcoming 100th anniversary, six members will receive Women of the Century awards for their commitment to the Bergen County community and to the NCJW. To qualify, each honoree has to have been a dedicated member of the section for years, served a term as president, and earned a Woman of the Section or Hannah G. Solomon award.

The Women of the Century honorees are Bea Podorefsky, Ina Miller-Silverstein, and Ann Levenstein, all of Teaneck; Ruth Cowan, who lived in Teaneck for decades but has moved to Dallas; Marcia Levy of Englewood; and Nita Gottesman of New York City.

The day also will include a screening of “NCJW BCS: The Movie,” a film about the history of the organization and its major achievements, written and produced by Ms. Gottesman and another section member, Sherry Bloom of West New York. For more information, go to www.ncjwbcs.org/events-page.html.
