In honor and memory of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Bergen County section of the National Council of Jewish Women celebrated her life at the Bergen County Courthouse on October 2 by circling the courthouse and then taking a ritual lap around the building. Members and friends read a Yizkor prayer and Maya Angelou’s poem “Phenomenal Woman.” Other NCJW members also memorialized Justice Ginsburg by circling Constitution Park in Fort Lee and the Eldredge Library in Chatham, Mass.

Justice Ginsburg spent her life fighting for reproductive justice, LGBTQ protections, and voting rights to improve the lives of women, children, and families. NCJWBCS encourages continuing her legacy by taking action at CourtsMatter.org. For more information, call (201) 385-4847 or go to ncjwbcs.org.
