More on GreenFaith
Temple Beth Rishon of Wyckoff is so pleased to welcome both Temple Sinai and Barnert Temple into the GreenFaith certification program. Temple Beth Rishon was the first Jewish house of worship, nationally, to be accepted into the GreenFaith certification program in May 2009, at the program’s inception. We have already been able to offer guidance and advice, based on our GreenFaith experience, to both Temple Sinai and Barnert Temple, and look forward to working with them and other local synagogues on environmental sustainability and environmental stewardship issues. The involvement of the Jewish community, particularly in New Jersey, with GreenFaith has been significant and has helped to shape the certification program as it has evolved this past year.
At Temple Beth Rishon we recognize how the Torah teaches us responsibility for conservation, for social justice, and for caring for all of God’s creations. Through these teachings we feel committed to environmental stewardship, and to sharing these values throughout our community and to the broader faith-based community as well.
